Three weeks ago, the KROKODIL Association launched its fourth consecutive humanitarian fundraising campaign, this time for the “Kapitoshka” kindergarten in Bucha, a suburb of Kyiv. Due to frequent air attacks on the Ukrainian capital’s energy system, the kindergarten has been left without electricity and heating. Despite this, 167 children regularly attend this kindergarten. It is necessary to raise 12,000 Euros to provide them with a 30kW electric generator, which would cover their needs for lighting, heating, and warm meals.

Given that this is a significant sum of money, we once again ask everyone who is able to show solidarity and donate whatever they can. Every sum, even the smallest, truly means a lot. We are counting on the fact that through small donations from a large number of citizens who feel empathy towards the innocent victims of the unjust war that has been waging in Ukraine for a full four years, we can truly help the children of this kindergarten.

We want to thank everyone who has donated so far and thus helped us raise 191,378.42 RSD to date. A list of those who have donated funds so far can be found at the end of this text.

The humanitarian action was launched in cooperation with the newly appointed Ambassador of Serbia to Ukraine, Andon Sapundži. Thanks to his initiative, the citizens of Ukraine themselves, despite their own exposure to the ravages of war, are also collecting funds to help the “Kapitoška” kindergarten in Bucha. The results of their efforts are similar to ours – so far, about 1,100 Euros have been collected in Ukraine itself.

Our efforts to reach the goal as soon as possible are also directed towards creating constructive relations in the region. Our intention is to succeed in this endeavor by joining forces with friends from neighboring countries. In this sense, and with the help of our friends and associates from the Zagreb Institute for Democracy, we have also initiated cooperation with the humanitarian association Dobro Dobrim from Croatia, which will also join us soon in collecting funds so that we can achieve the desired goal as quickly as possible.

We remind you that it is important to raise the necessary money as soon as possible to alleviate the terrible winter conditions in which this kindergarten operates without electricity and heating. We understand that the aggression against Ukraine is no longer present in the media to the extent it was at the very beginning of this unjust war. However, this does not mean that the people of Ukraine do not need help – quite the opposite! The capacities of this country are incomparably smaller today than at the beginning of the war, the infrastructure is destroyed, and it is of immense importance that we do not forget the trials and suffering endured by ordinary citizens, the innocent civilian victims of this, as well as all wars.

Let us show solidarity, empathy, and unconditional support to all innocent victims of an unjust war, and especially to children, who, due to long-lasting aggression, live and grow up daily in utterly undignified and often life-threatening conditions.
