{"id":16809,"date":"2021-08-09T12:15:28","date_gmt":"2021-08-09T12:15:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.krokodil.rs\/eng\/?p=16809"},"modified":"2021-08-11T14:09:08","modified_gmt":"2021-08-11T14:09:08","slug":"krokodil-festival-2021-debate-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.krokodil.rs\/eng\/2021\/08\/krokodil-festival-2021-debate-program\/","title":{"rendered":"KROKODIL FESTIVAL 2021: DEBATE PROGRAM"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-black-background-color has-text-color has-background\">Debate program<br>August 28 at 11 am, August 29 at 12 pm, Center for Cultural Decontamination, Bir\u010daninova 21, Belgrade.<br>August 29 at 6 pm, Yugoslav Film Archive, Uzun Mirkova 1, Belgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the traditional <strong>KROKODIL Festival\u2019s Debate program<\/strong>, we will deal with the most current socio-political topics from the perspective of culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-black-background-color has-text-color has-background\">The debate program will be held on <strong>Saturday, August 28, at 11 am and Sunday, August 29, at 12 pm<\/strong> at the <strong>Center for Cultural Decontamination (Bir\u010daninova 21)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On <strong>Saturday, August 28, at 11 am<\/strong>, the Debate program will begin with the presentation of the project <em><strong>Unifying Power of Diversity: European Literature through Time, Genres and Languages<\/strong><\/em> \u200b\u200bof the publishing house <strong>IPC Media<\/strong>. Two authors whose works have been translated as part of this project &#8211; <strong>Marcin Wicha<\/strong> (Poland) and <strong>Darko Tu\u0161evljakovi\u0107<\/strong> (Serbia), as well as Spanish author and translator <strong>Miguel Roan<\/strong>, will touch upon the diachronic view of the diversity of European languages \u200b\u200band the genre diversity of European literary traditions, as well as the contribution of the Serbian and regional literary scene to the polyphony and polymorphism of European literary voices. The conversation will be moderator by <strong>Aleksandar Bo\u017ei\u0107<\/strong> from IPC Media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This program will be followed by the <strong>Borders vs Frontiers debate<\/strong>, in which author <strong>Elvedin Nezirovi\u0107<\/strong> (Bosnia and Herzegovina) will take part in addition to the journalist and cultural worker <strong>Arif Muharremi <\/strong>(Kosovo) and Polish writer, illustrator and designer <strong>Marcin Wicha<\/strong>. This conversation will be moderated by journalist <strong>Ljubica Gojgi\u0107<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A regional panel discussion within the <strong>Better Together<\/strong> project will be held on <strong>Sunday, August 29, at 12 pm<\/strong>, bringing together a large number of representatives of NGOs from the Western Balkans (Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Macedonia and Kosovo) and European Union (Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Romania) in the discussion on the way in which state institutions responded to the pandemic in relation to the non-governmental sector, and especially in relation to organizations in the field of culture and creative industries. The negotiating abilities and capacities of these organizations in extraordinary circumstances will also be discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fourth and final evening of the thirteenth KROKODIL Festival will be held on <strong>Sunday, August 29, at 6 pm<\/strong> at the<strong> Yugoslav Film Archive<\/strong>. During this evening, the latest book from our <strong>Common Library<\/strong> series, <em><strong>Youth<\/strong><\/em>, with the texts written by Svetlana Slap\u0161ak and Aleksandar Hemon, will be presented, along with the integral Common Library edition, which includes all nine books published so far. The editors of the Common Library, <strong>Vladimir Arsenijevi\u0107<\/strong> and<strong> Igor \u0160tiks<\/strong>, will take part in the conversation, as well as some of the authors who have contributed to this project with their essays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The closing event of this year\u2019s KROKODIL Festival will be the <strong>Histoire pour la libert\u00e9 conference<\/strong>, where participants will discuss the responsibility of historians and non-historians for creating historical narratives and shaping the politics of memory. Participants include <strong>Ivana Bodro\u017ei\u0107, Igor \u0160tiks, Semezdin Mehmedinovi\u0107, Damir Agi\u010di\u0107, Husnija Kamberovi\u0107, Tomas Schad <\/strong>and <strong>Milivoj Be\u0161lin<\/strong>. The discussion will be moderated by <strong>Dragan Markovina<\/strong> and <strong>Tvrtko Jakovina<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-black-background-color has-text-color has-background\"><strong>The entrance for all programs in the Center for Cultural Decontamination as well as in the Yugoslav Film Archive will be free.
