Nine literary and translation centers have residencies for up to 18 translators this year, in the new Translation in Motion program.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: MARCH 30<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

T<\/strong>HE LITERARY-TRANSLATION PROJECT CALLED TRANSLATION IN MOTION<\/a>\u2014PUBLISHING PERSPECTIVES <\/em>HIGHLIGHTED IT IN AUGUST<\/a>\u2014HAS ISSUED AN OPEN CALL<\/a> FOR LITERARY TRANSLATION RESIDENCIES BETWEEN APRIL 2022 AND APRIL 2023. THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS MARCH 30.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Building on the program\u2019s success in its first year, the umbrella organization behind this program\u2014the European literary translation centers network RECIT<\/a>\u2014is focused on increasing translated literature between the western Balkans and the European Union\u2019s member-states, with some of the works translated by participating translators already released in European markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monica Dimitrova, the communications manager for the Translation in Motion project, tells Publishing Perspectives<\/em> that one of the program\u2019s key objectives is to foster translations in rare language combinations. The in motion<\/em> component of the program\u2019s name is a reference to its support for the international mobility of literary translators working from and into the languages of the western Balkans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RECIT is the project\u2019s initiator and the only such network in Europe, Dimitrova says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
