The network of literary residencies has now been extended to seven European countries: Czech Republic, Croatia, Greece, Malta, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain and Wales in the United Kingdom, and collaborates with many institutions and NGOs in each participating country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This call refers to <strong>the emerging authors (prose, poetry, translation) <\/strong>who can apply for <strong>one paid residency during 2024\/2025.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The residency programme addresses the international dimension as its priority by giving emerging authors the opportunity to work, perform and present themselves in different European locations. Each residency will be accompanied by a diverse supporting programme consisting of literature-related activities aimed at specific (local) target groups, such as taking part in literary readings, workshops, festivals and \/ or other literary-related activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LOCATIONS, LENGTH OF THE RESIDENCIES AND PROGRAMME OFFERED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Larissa, Greece<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>when: August &#8211; September 2024&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>duration: 2-3 weeks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>programme for: poetry authors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mljet, Croatia<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>when: between January &#8211; March 2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>duration: up to 3 weeks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>programme for: prose\/poetry authors, translators<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Valletta, Malta<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>when: during the second half of August 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>duration: 2 weeks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>programme for: prose\/poetry authors, translators<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prague, Czech Republic<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>when: November 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>duration: 2 weeks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>programme for: poetry authors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Caernarfon, Wales, UK<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>when: between April 1 &#8211; May 15 2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>duration: 2 weeks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>programme for: prose\/poetry authors, translators<br><br><strong>WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must be <strong>emerging authors<\/strong> (prose\/poetry) <strong>or literary translators<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must have <strong>at least one<\/strong>, and <strong>not more than three works<\/strong> officially published (online and\/or in print)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must be citizens of Serbia or have a permanent residency in Serbia<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must have advanced knowledge of English<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must be able to travel to the chosen location in the set period<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must write an entry for the ULYSSES\u2019 SHELTER website <a href=\"http:\/\/tovar.hr\">Tovar.hr<\/a> during the residency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must be open to collaborating and working with other artists and partners<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants should be interested in fostering a relationship with the local audience <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>NOTE: To be considered for the residency programme applicants must meet all eligibility criteria.\u00a0<\/strong><br><br><strong>WHAT IS OFFERED?<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Two (2) paid residencies for 2 candidates<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An introduction session, artist talk or other events\/workshops<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support for the residents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promoting residents on the ULYSSES\u2019 SHELTER social media accounts, newsletter, and website <a href=\"https:\/\/tovar.hr\/\">Tovar.hr<\/a>, as well as on all partners\u2019 social media accounts, newsletters, and websites<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Networking possibilities and international visibility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Covered accommodation and travel expenses (economy class)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Award for residents <strong>700 EUR gross<\/strong> (including all taxes and living allowance)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A fantastic opportunity for ambitious emerging authors to benefit from a unique experience which can strengthen their career, and enable them to create new work, do research, as well as experiment and take on a new direction in their writing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHAT ARE THE SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Application must be sent to <strong>prijave@krokodil.rs<\/strong> by <strong>April 7, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; All documents have to be submitted <strong>in English<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; It is possible to apply for more locations, but the chosen candidate can only be offered 1 placement<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Necessary documentation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>CV or Resume (no longer than 1 page)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Motivational letter that includes an explanation of why the applicant wants to participate in this programme (no longer than 1 page)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choice of locations (up to 3): that includes a short explanation of why the applicant wants visit specific locations and how it relates to their work (no longer than 1 page)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bibliography (list of published works)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OPTIONAL: Sample of work (2-3 poems, 3 pages of published text)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHEN WILL THE RESULTS BE PUBLISHED?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The results will be announced on the project\u2019s and partners\u2019 websites and social media <strong>on May 6, 2024<\/strong>.
