{"id":19267,"date":"2024-10-31T14:38:40","date_gmt":"2024-10-31T14:38:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.krokodil.rs\/eng\/?p=19267"},"modified":"2024-10-31T14:38:43","modified_gmt":"2024-10-31T14:38:43","slug":"when-serbian-and-ukrainian-civil-societies-meet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.krokodil.rs\/eng\/2024\/10\/when-serbian-and-ukrainian-civil-societies-meet\/","title":{"rendered":"When Serbian and Ukrainian Civil Societies Meet"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Kick-off meeting and working lunch that we held on October 24th at the American Corner in order to&nbsp; present future networking events organized under the project Libert\u00e9 Egalit\u00e9 Solidarit\u00e9 aimed at fostering collaboration between the CSO sectors in Serbia and Ukraine, was a huge success, gathering representatives from more than 15 most relevant CSOs in Serbia as well as two representatives from the American&nbsp;House in Kyiv. Since this first gathering greatly exceeded our expectations and further demonstrated a strong need for cooperation, which was already evident by research KROKODIL conducted throughout 2023, our intention is that the next step involves establishing a platform that would&nbsp;facilitate such cooperation in the long term and in that way not only strengthen the civil sectors of both nations but also enhance their ability to manage complex socio-political challenges collectively while promoting shared values and mutual understanding.&nbsp;Funding from various donors is essential for the successful execution of such an endeavor and its long-term impact, ensuring the necessary resources are available to build and sustain these vital partnerships, and therefore we would be very grateful for any additional support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project Libert\u00e9 Egalit\u00e9 Solidarit\u00e9 is supported by the Embassy of Canada to Serbia.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It aims to unite CSOs from Serbia and Ukraine in addressing the complex interplay of public interest advocacy within Serbia&#8217;s unique geopolitical context. This context includes the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Serbia&#8217;s relationship with Russia, and the influence of Russian soft power\u2014elements that challenge the values and actions of many CSOs in the region.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-1 wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img
