Today, we urgently need your help for Anton Bobryshev.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On 4 June 2023, the last birthday of Alexei of Navalny before he was brutally murdered, Anton organised a protest to support Alexei in Pancevo. Around 20 people attended the event, which was held without incident \u2014 just like a similar gathering that took place on the same day in Belgrade. Despite this, in September 2024, Serbian authorities denied Anton an extension of his temporary residence permit, claiming he was an \u201cunacceptable security risk.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This decision is deeply unjust. Serbia\u2019s Constitution guarantees freedom of expression and assembly to all \u2014 including foreign nationals. Moreover, the European Court of Human Rights prohibits deportation decisions based on vague claims of national security threats without clearly explaining what those threats are. Despite these protections, Anton\u2019s appeal to the head of Serbian police was rejected, and he has now been ordered to leave Serbia within 30 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anton has lived in Serbia for over a decade. He has no other home to turn to and must now initiate legal proceedings to challenge these decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To cover the first phase of these proceedings \u2014 filing an administrative lawsuit request to postpone the deportation order \u2014 we must raise 90,000 dinars (as per current attorney fees). The total cost of the full administrative court proceedings is estimated at approximately 1,500 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anton cannot cover these amounts alone and counts on your solidarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
