Dear friends,
Please take ten minutes of your time to help us by filling out the following questionnaire in preparation for the second edition of the research Why Do You Say Love When You Mean War? 2.0.
The deadline for collecting responses is November 14, after which we will begin conducting focus groups. We invite you to participate in them as well. You can find the application in the questionnaire itself, which you can access by clicking HERE.
A continuation of one of the most important programs of the KROKODIL Association, Why Do You Say Love When You Mean War? will, over the next ten months, address the culture of violence and the glorification of war criminals in Serbia, which hinders reconciliation and democratic development in the Western Balkans region. This problem is especially pronounced among young people, who are susceptible to manipulation by political elites through the media using historical revisionism as a tool, making them a vulnerable group when it comes to radicalization and acceptance of violent behavior patterns.
The significance of the program lies in its potential to contribute to real change among citizens, especially the youth, regarding attitudes and perceptions of the wars of the 1990s, confronting the past through education and dialogue. Since 2022, the program has focused on developing critical thinking and raising awareness among Serbian citizens about war crimes, as well as improving knowledge of historical facts through the promotion of multi-perspective study of history and the culture of peace and reconciliation. The goal of this second phase is to research the attitudes of citizens about the legacy of the wars from the former Yugoslavia and the contribution of that legacy to hidden influences on the increase of violence in our society within the context of current socio-political circumstances.
