We are delighted to announce the selected authors that will take part in the KROKODIL’s residential program in 2025 and 2026 within the Centers of Periphery 2.0 project.

It was not an easy task to choose the residency recipients among the many high-quality applications that we received. However, after careful review and consideration, the following authors were selected to participate in the residency program:

  1. Ida Therén
  2. Souzan Ibrahim
  3. Bim Eriksson
  4. Lejla Cato
  5. Merima Dizdarević
  6. Josephine Frans

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the chosen candidates and thank all applicants for their interest, passion, and dedication!

Centers of Periphery 2.0 is a cultural and knowledge exchange project developed by Littfest and Association KROKODIL, aimed at strengthening the ties between Swedish and Serbian cultural scenes and developing a strong basis for collaboration; promoting democratic values, freedom of expression, and human rights through literary exchange; amplifying peripheral and/or underrepresented voices and creating opportunities for dialogue. The project activities will include two gatherings of literary professionals in Belgrade and Gothenburg in 2025 and a festival exchange between KROKODIL and Littfest in 2026, as well as six monthly residential stays for literary creators from Sweden in Belgrade, Serbia including public events and meetings with relevant literary and cultural stakeholders. The project seeks to facilitate literary exchange from these two peripheral European regions by providing platforms for discussing critical issues such as democracy, human rights, and freedom of expression as well as contemporary literary expressions of these essential values.

The project is supported by the Swedish Institute.
