The KROKODIL team is launching a humanitarian campaign aimed at helping the children of the “Kapitoška” kindergarten in Bucha, a suburb of Kyiv. The director of the institution, Ala Yashchenko, reached out to us for help, pointing to the lasting physical and mental consequences that prolonged stay in such an environment leaves on children. Without electricity, they have had no hot meals for weeks, they are freezing and spending time in darkened rooms, which causes deep fear and constant anxiety.  

That is why our plan is to collect 12,000 Euros by the end of February, in order to buy a 30 kW electric generator, which would be able to provide enough electricity for the basic needs of this institution.

Due to constant attacks on the energy system, the capital of Ukraine has been left without electricity, water, and heating during this extremely cold winter. Despite this, 167 children still regularly attend the “Kapitoška” kindergarten in Bucha because their parents have to work. This means that, despite all the efforts of the staff to provide a safe and secure environment, the children often stay in blackout conditions, without heating, or in basement rooms in order to hide from air raids.  

We invite individuals, companies, institutions, and media outlets to donate, share this story, and help us obtain the necessary generator. We also call on owners, manufacturers and/or importers of generators of this capacity to help.

Let us show solidarity, empathy, and unconditional support to all innocent victims of this unjust war, and especially to the children, who due to prolonged aggression live and grow up every day in undignified conditions.

Full four years since the beginning of the full-scale aggression against Ukraine, this country is exhausted and its capacities are incomparably smaller than at the beginning of the war. That is why it is important not to forget the people of Ukraine and to continue providing them with ongoing support. So far, the KROKODIL Association has organized three humanitarian trips to Ukraine. In 2022, aid was provided to premature babies in the Kharkiv Perinatal Center; in 2023, to internaly displaced persons, children and the elderly in the township of Blyzniuky in the far east of Ukraine; and in 2024, to a Point of Invincibility at the Baptist church in Kherson. With this campaign, we wish to continue our efforts to help the innocent victims of the war.
