On February 3, at 3pm in the Belgrade City Assembly Hall, the KROKODIL Association was presented with an award for the website www.krokodil.rs in the “Education and Culture” category of the jubilee 25th Top50 selection – Best Things on the Internet. Milena Berić, director of communications, development, and external relations as well as a member of the KROKODIL board of directors, received the award on behalf of the KROKODIL Association. The award, which is the most significant recognition for online excellence in Serbia, is awarded this year for the 25th time by PC Press.

Milena extended her gratitude for the nomination and the award on behalf of the entire team of the KROKODIL Association.

“It is always a pleasure to receive an award. On the other hand, they also put pressure on us to work even better. Our website has been in the process of redesign for quite some time as we haven’t been satisfied with it for a long period but even so it has received ten times more visits in the past year compared to the period before”, Milena said.

“This shows that good and high quality content is what people need. High quality, creative and timely content is definitely much more important in the long run for both the organization and the audience than the form itself, although the form is quite important in attracting the audience. In the future we will do our best to continue to provide high quality content from the world of culture, literature and civil society activism from Serbia and the entire region of former Yugoslavia to the public in Serbia as well as to our diaspora all over the world.”

50 Best Things on the Internet selection, known to the general public as Top50, has been held since 1997. It is a recognition awarded by PC Press for the best websites, apps and social media accounts. It is awarded in the following categories: News and Media, E-Marketing, Business and Social Networking Services, Home and Entertainment, Education and Culture, Sport and (Adventure) Tourism, Mobile Apps and Social Media Accounts: LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

This year PC Press held its award ceremony for the jubilee 25th time. There are up to five equal award winners in each category and one of them is “first among equals”, a winner of the category. In the selection process the votes of the public determine 50 best ranked organizations and companies from which the jury then selects finalists and winners. The jury bases its decision on the criteria such as page visits, quality of content, credibility, etc.
