10 Mar KROKODIL RECEIVES AN AWARD FROM THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF UKRAINE
It is our great honor and pleasure to share with you that the KROKODIL Association has been awarded the “Amber Heart” recognition, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine grants to individuals for exceptional contribution, support, and promotion of Ukrainian culture, history, and the fight for freedom. The award was accepted by the President of the KROKODIL Association, Vladimir Arsenijević, on March 10, 2026, at the Europe House in Novi Sad.
Amber (burshtyn) is one of the most recognizable symbols of Ukraine and its natural wealth, while the heart represents strength, compassion, and a firm connection with the Ukrainian people.
From the very beginning, standing with the Ukrainian people, we have provided concrete forms of assistance to those who found themselves in the tragic reality of war and destruction. We have carried out several dozen different activities in Serbia, Ukraine, and Europe. The most important and closest to our hearts have been personal visits to the front and the collection of humanitarian aid for the most vulnerable in Kherson, Blyzniuky, and Kharkiv. This year those are the children from the “Kapitoška” kindergarten in Bucha.
So far, the KROKODIL Association has successfully conducted three humanitarian trips to Ukraine. In 2022, assistance was provided to premature babies at the Kharkiv Perinatal Center; in 2023, to internally displaced persons, children, and the elderly in the town of Blyznyuky in the far east of Ukraine; and in 2024, to the Point of Invincibility at the Baptist Church in Kherson.
Currently, a humanitarian fundraising campaign is underway for the “Kapitoška” kindergarten in Bucha, a suburb of Kyiv. The 167 children at this kindergarten spend their days in unsuitable conditions, without heating, electricity, or hot meals. In this campaign, we have also joined forces with partner organizations from the region: Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro, in order to help the innocent victims of the aggression against Ukraine. Let us show that precisely because our region has experience with war, we recognize the importance of unconditional support and solidarity with all those suffering unjustly during the aggression against Ukraine.
